Charles Woler, MD
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer

Charles Woler has spent the last 29 years in the healthcare industry, both in large pharmaceutical companies, SMEs and increasingly in smaller, earlier stage companies. His experience encompasses prescription drugs, OTC, diagnostics and biotech.

Before joining Endotis Pharma in June 2007, Charles Woler was founder and CEO of Neuro3d, a VC backed biotech company focusing on psychiatric disorders, which merged with Evotec OIE in May 2007.

Since 1976 Charles Woler has worked with the Pharma industry in senior positions at Warner Lambert and Akzo Pharma; he became General Manager, France, of Roche, and then Chairman of Smithkline Beecham's European pharmaceutical business. Then Charles Woler moved to the biotech industry in the US to become CEO of Cadus Pharmaceuticals, a NASDAQ listed biotech company.

By training Charles Woler is a Medical Doctor and holds a PhD in Clinical Pharmacology and an MBA. He is fluent in French and English
Maurice Petitou, Ph.D.
Head of Preclinical Research and Development

Maurice Petitou joined ENDOTIS Pharma in 2005, as Executive Director Research and Development, after a 27 year experience in pharmaceutical industry (Sanofi-Aventis group). Initially trained as a carbohydrate chemist (Doctor in chemistry and Docteur ès sciences), he ever since worked in close collaboration with biologists and pharmacologists.

Maurice Petitou made major contributions to the field of heparin research. He is an inventor of Fraxiparin, the first Low Molecular Weight Heparin to be tested in clinics and to be marketed. The first chemical synthesis of the drug Arixtra was carried out by his team and he was strongly involved in the development of the drug (the first synthetic complex oligosaccharide to be marketed). Six new chemical entities (including idraparinux) issued from his research entered development during the last ten years.

Maurice Petitou is inventor/co-inventor of more than 30 patent and has authored/co-authored more than 170 original articles, reviews, or book chapters; he has won a number of research awards including the Whistler Award in Carbohydrate (International Carbohydrate Organisation), the Norman Berry Lecturer Award (British Society of Haemostasis and Thrombosis), and the Leon Velluz Award (Grand Prix of the French Academy of Sciences).
Stephane Degove
Head of Finance

Stephane Degove joined ENDOTIS Pharma at its inception in early 2003. He holds a Business and Administration Degree from the ESCP Europe business school (Paris, France). Following his graduation, he worked for 4 years in finance and pharmaceutics for Sanofi and for the Australian industrial group Orica. Prior to joining the company, he was involved for two years at OC&C Strategy Consultants in profitability optimization, strategic due-diligence and European expansion projects for leaders in their sectors.
Eric Neuhart, MD
Head of Clinical Resesarch and Development

Eric Neuhart joined Endotis Pharma in September 2007. He was trained at the University of medicine of Strasbourg (France), received his medical degree, and post graduate specialization in cardiology as a resident at the university of medicine of Besancon (France). He also holds the following diplomas: human biology (Besancon), methodology of clinical studies (Paris), and European center of pharmaceutical medicine (Basel).
Eric followed up an early interest in clinical research initially during his residency, and then during 18 years in the pharmaceutical industry. He started his career at Rhone Poulenc Rorer (Paris), then at Novartis (Basel), as senior clinical research physician. Thereafter, he joined Actelion (Basel) as deputy head of clinical research, and head of process improvement responsible for the integration of all functions within clinical development.
He has been mainly involved with the clinical development of antithrombotic drugs (in particular of a LMWH and direct thrombin inhibitors in the prevention and treatment of venous and arterial thrombosis), of an angiotensin II receptor antagonist (systemic hypertension, chronic heart failure, myocardial infarction), and endothelin receptor antagonists in the treatment of pulmonary hypertension, acute heart failure and pulmonary fibrosis.
